Acoustic music and rustic food prove perfect recipe at North East venue

<p>Acoustic music and rustic food are coming together for an evening of live entertainment at one of the North East’s newest venues.</p>

The Columbus Bar at the DoubleTree by Hilton Newcastle International Airport hotel is hosting a hog roast on Friday, July 6, including a special appearance by Teesside singer Richard Sutton.

Richard, who was born in Middlesbrough, graduated with a degree in Jazz, Pop and Commercial Music from the University of Sunderland in 2007 and has been performing across the UK and Europe for the past 12 years.

The 27 year-old, who is the first singer to take to the stage at the Columbus Bar since it opened in November 2011, will be playing a variety of guitar-based chart hits from artists such as David Gray, Paul Weller, Pink Floyd, Van Morrison, the Beatles and Oasis.

Visitors at the ticket-only event, which is being organised in association with AMV Live Music, will also be able to enjoy a traditional hog roast, with generous helpings of meat, apple sauce, stuffing, chips and salad, as well as a complimentary bottle of beer or house wine.

The Columbus Bar, which is open daily for food and drinks, can be accessed via the DoubleTree by Hilton Newcastle International Airport hotel’s main reception or through a separate entrance on the way into the Newcastle Airport grounds.
