Flying start for honeymooners
Newlyweds can get their honeymoon off to a flying start at one of the UK’s newest luxury hotels.
As the North East’s largest airport, Newcastle International handles more than four million passengers a year, including many couples heading off on honeymoon or to exchange their vows overseas.
The Doubletree by Hilton Newcastle International Airport hotel, located just yards from the airport terminal, is now offering a special honeymoon package, specifically designed to help those couples begin their break in style.
The package, which will be available all year round, includes overnight accommodation in a double room, with a free upgrade where available, a complimentary bottle of Prosecco on arrival and breakfast from the hotel’s extensive hot and cold buffet the following morning.
It also includes 15 days secure car parking while the newlyweds are on honeymoon, with a valet service to take the vehicle from the hotel as the happy couple checks in.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Newcastle International Airport hotel, which opened in December, offers a choice of 179 contemporary en-suite bedrooms, each boasting a flat panel TV, soundproof windows, complimentary high speed internet access and luxurious Sweet Dreams® beds.
The multi-million pound venue, owned by leading North East firm Cairn Group, also houses a large function suite, perfect for wedding receptions involving up to 150 guests, a 24-hour fitness centre and stylish Fratello’s Italian restaurant, offering a wide range of freshly-prepared classic and contemporary Italian cuisine.
Gourmet meals and snacks are also available in the hotel’s stylish Columbus Bar, as well as via 24-hour room service for guest’s staying overnight.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Newcastle International Airport hotel’s Honeymoon Park and Fly Package, which launches this month, is priced at £130 per couple, with extended stays also available on request.
